Kernighan Mitchell is a young musician and composer with ambitions of composing for video games and film. His love of music started at a young age with a toy electronic keyboard. His love of video games started at about the the same time when he got his first Nintendo DS at age three.

The lure of video gaming had him thinking about pursuing a career in coding. Then he signed up for 6th grade band as a percussionist. Before long, the lure of music had him reconsidering coding as a career. He still loved video gaming and realized he could marry his interests as a composer for video games.

While mallet percussion is his primary instrument, he also plays piano, snare, quints, and other percussive instruments. He recently acquired and is learning the saxophone. He is eager to learn other instruments as well.

He learned Garage Band when he got a new keyboard a few years ago, and recently upgraded to using Logic as his DAW (digitial audio workstation). During the Pandemic, he recorded hymns for a local church where he had served as a supply organist/pianist. He continues to record the music for their services and recently was hired as a supply pianist at another local church.

He is from the lower eastern shore of Maryland, where he currently resides while completing his senior year in high school. He looks forward to exploring another part of the country when he attends college.
